I AM SAM.
I am a Computer Engineering graduate and a current Bachelor Of Eng Tech (Honours) student at Cape Peninsula University Of Technology (CPUT). My central focus is mainly on the Systems Engineering, This is the motivattion behind the choice of languages I use (C, Rust and Bash , amongst the rest). Lately my focus has expanded towards Software Development, specifically, Machine Learning and AI Engineering Research, I have worked on a few research projects within my Honours year, whereby we had to research why certain ML algorithms behave in a certain way, and how to optimise them, more of this on the project's section. My current research project explores the alternate ways of using light to transmit data, specifically using Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), while integrating both ASYM & SYM encryption.

Exploring next-generation Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) protocols. Optimising network layers by combining asymmetric and symmetric encryption pipelines over experimental optical light links. Interfacing physical optoelectronic hardware with embedded signal processing architectures.
Electronics Technician
Assisted the Electronics students with Laboratory setup, this included tutoring Electronics concepts in class, and also conduting lab sessions whereby we assembled circuits and tested if htey function appropriately. Programming Micro-controllers such as Arduino and Raspberry PI to create autonomous systems

Non-Invasive Brain-Computer Interface
Used Neurosky headsets to capture EEG singal. Developed a processing pipeline to decode human brain waves, identifying emotional states and current mood through frequency bands decoding.

Integrated OpenDaylight (ODL) with GNS3 and VirtualBox to design a software-defined controller. Engineered dynamic routing logic utilising BGP and OSPF protocols.

Took the classic Pacman and gave it a 3D makeover. Built it from scratch using WebGL, handling cameras, field of view, and custom shaders.

A high-performance network throughput testing tool engineered in Rust. Using multi-threaded sockets to spin up simultaneous download stream worker threads to max out bandwidth and precisely measure raw network infrastructure speed.
